Obituary of William (Bill) Manley Wyckoff
William (Bill) Manley Wyckoff, 99, of Fairmont WV passed away on November 29, 2022 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown. Bill was predeceased by his loving wife, Betty Wyckoff; and son, John Wyckoff. He is survived by his son, Robert Wyckoff and daughter-in-law Rose Wyckoff; three grandchildren, Cindy Rowlands, Nicole Wyckoff and Jonathan Wyckoff; two great-grandchildren, Efa Rowlands and Nia Rowlands; and nieces, nephews and other relatives. A graduate of West Virginia University, he served with the Reconnaissance Troop of the 83rd Infantry Division during WW2 and took part in the Allied Invasion of Europe. He was wounded in Germany and received the Purple Heart and other citations for his brave and patriotic service. He was treated and subsequently returned to active duty and fought in the Battle of the Bulge during the winter of 1944/45. After the war he worked for Alleghany Power until retirement. Bill was a quiet, unassuming, peaceful man who earned the respect of his family and friends alike. He is gone but not forgotten.
