Obituary of John Edward Jenkins

John Edward Jenkins, 71, of Fairmont passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. He was born in Fairmont on June 6, 1951, a son of the late June Edward Jenkins and Johanna Hildegard Kube Jenkins. John is survived by his loving wife, Deborah Mae Ware Jenkins; daughter, Heather Dawn Shumate of Fairmont; granddaughters, Hannah Marie Shumate of Worthington and Sarah Elizabeth Shumate of Worthington; brother, Charles Don Jenkins and his wife Margaret of Norfolk, VA; sister-in-law, Rhonda Jenkins of Newburg; former son-in-law, Robert Shumate II of Worthington; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph David Jenkins. John served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and retired from Doddridge Controls as an electrician. He was a member of AA and celebrated 24 years of sobriety. John enjoyed music, driving his corvette, football, and watching the news.
