Obituary of Daniel Ross Wells, Sr.

Daniel Ross Wells, Sr., 75, of Fairmont, passed away with his family by his side, on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at his residence. He was born March 20, 1947, a son of Roy Lawrence Wells Sr. and Thelma Stevens Wells. Daniel is survived by his son, Daniel Wells Jr. and his wife Celsa Wells of Fairmont, WV; daughters, Darla Lee and her husband Daniel Guertin of Virginia Beach, VA, Marsha Lynn and her husband Roddruss Clay of Fairmont, WV; grandchildren, Joshua Wells, Jacob Wells, Melissa Guertin, and Mathew Guertin; along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by his loving wife, Donna Wells. Daniel was a retired Longwall Operator for the Peabody Coal Company at Federal No. 2 Mine in Daybrook, WV. He enjoyed the outdoors through fishing, camping, gardening, and yard work. He also enjoyed playing cards. He loved spending his time with friends, family, and grandchildren. He greatly loved his beloved dog Oscar, his Yorkie Terrier. The family will receive friends at the Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 Second Street, Rivesville, WV 26588 on October 14, 2022 from 11a.m.- 3 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home Friday at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Stanley Merrifield officiating.
