Obituary of Linda Jean Carter

Linda Jean Moore Carter, 65, of Buckhannon, formerly of Fairmont, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown after a 16 year battle with cancer. She was born November 18, 1950 in Fairmont, WV a daughter of John William Moore and the late Velma A. Haney Moore. She is survived by her husband Larry B. Carter. Linda was a 1968 graduate of East Fairmont High School, as well as a graduate of Morgantown Beauty College. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Buckhannon. Linda was a homemaker within her own home. She enjoyed raising and caring for her family. She was a lifelong stamp collector, and an excellent seamstress having created clothing for herself and her family throughout her life. She enjoyed many levels of crafting including crossstitch, crotcheting, and knitting. She owned and operated a baking company within her home supplying cookies and baked goods to the Country Cupboard for many years. Linda loved to line dance and take motorcycle trips with her husband. In addition to her husband and father , Linda is survived by her son, Jason and his wife Mitzi of Fallon, NV, her daughter Missy and her husband Adam Rosenberger of Bloomington, IL, her grandchildren: Kristina Carter, Josh Carter, Kaden Stone, Hanna Rosenberger, and Abby Rosenberger, sisters: Diann Moore Hayes of Lewisburg, WV, and Jackie and her husband Gary Fletcher of Fairmont; her sister-in-law, Brenda Sue Skelton Moore of Pearland, TX In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brother, John William Moore, II. The family requests that memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Center Patient Assistance Fund, c/o Davis Foundation, PO Box 118, Elkins, WV 26241 Friends and family may visit the Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV on Monday, October 10, 2016 from 11AM until 3PM and from 5PM until 8PM, and on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 from 10AM until 11AM. The funeral will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at 11AM with Reverend Steve Meadows officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery and Mausoleum in Fairmont.
