Obituary of Shirley Hudgins Malick Edwards

Shirley Hudgins Malick Edwards, 87, of Fairmont passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. She was born in Fairmont on November 29, 1934. Shirley is survived by her sons, Steven Palmer and his wife Patty of Fairmont and Scott Malick and his wife Debbie of Fairmont; four grandchildren, Buddy, Mandi, Steven, and Susan; and her great-grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her husbands, Hal Palmer, Walter Malick, and James Edwards; daughter, Susan Wright; and parents, Wayne Hudgins and Eunice Stokes Hudgins. Shirley was a graduate of East Fairmont High School and retired from Sears. She was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church and loved her cat, Spike. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Barbara’s Nursing Home for their loving care and support. The family requests memorial contributions be made in Shirley’s memory to Grace Lutheran Church, 300 Gaston Ave., Fairmont, WV 26554. The family has entrusted arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554. A private committal service will be held at Grandview Memorial Gardens for the family.
