Obituary of Harold E. "Bud" Perkins

Harold E. “Bud” Perkins, 78, of Rivesville, WV passed away peacefully at his home with family and friends present on August 22, 2022. He was born June 7, 1944 in Fairmont, the son of the late Charles and Helen Perkins. Bud attended Baxter grade school and Rivesville High School. He was employed with Federal #1 Mine, later Peabody, in Grant Town as a mine operator and retired with over 33 ½ years of service. Bud also did small engine repair in his free time. Bud enjoyed hunting, fishing, flea markets, and collecting junk (which he considered treasures), and spending countless hours sitting in his garage with his best companion Gizmo. Survivors include his four children, Joni (Bub) Benson, Toni Jo (Brad) Shelton, David Flori, and Pamela Flori all of Rivesville, two sisters-in-law, Linda and Patricia Perkins, his brother-in-law, Ira Ogden, as well as several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Kimberly Flori of Fairmont, Erica (Drew) Moore of Rivesville, Brooklyn (Will) Lucas of Mannington, Justin Wells and his companion Allie Maset of Rivesville, and Elizabeth Flori of Masontown, as well as his nine great-grandchildren, Wyatt Davy of Florida, Mason and Maleigha Moore of Rivesville, Clayton, Laney and Coleson Lucas of Mannington, Thea Wells, Haiden and Julianna Thompson, all of Rivesville. Bud was preceded in death by his wife Carol Sue Perkins, a son Albert Beto Flori, Jr., his granddaughter, Tressa Sue Wells., his three brothers, Charles (Doodle)Perkins, Thomas Perkins and his wife Peggy Perkins, and Author (Jim) Perkins, and his sister Florence Ogden. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 Second Street, Rivesville, WV. Friends and family may visit on Friday, August 26, 2022 from 2PM until 8PM.
