Obituary of Helen Gladys Bice Wilmoth

Helen Gladys Gump Bice Wilmoth, 94, of Pleasant Valley, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at the Fairmont Rehabilitation Center. She was born September 3, 1927 in Mannington, WV a daughter of the late Harry Gump and Nettie Cunningham Gump Tipton Steiss. She was preceded death by her first husband Ward Bice, Jr., and her second husband Melvin “Doc” Wilmoth. Mrs. Wilmoth was a member of the Eldora United Methodist Church. She worked with the YWCA of Fairmont and retired in 2010 where she served as the receptionist and senior aide. Helen is survived by her son William and his wife Barbara Bice of Fairmont, her step-children, Mark and his wife Mary Ann Wilmoth of Clarksburg, and Melva Linn Messenger. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Thomas Ward Bice and William “Billy” Bice, both of Fairmont, and her great-grandchildren, Thomas Ward Bice II and Dylan Bice. In addition to her parents and husbands, Helen was preceded in death by her daughter, Diane and her husband Charles “Bob” Bombard, and her sister, Geraldine Morris. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont. Friends and family may visit on Friday, July 29, 2022 from 10 AM until 1 PM. The funeral will be held in the funeral home on Friday, July 29, 2022 at 1PM with Rev. Sarita Robinson officiating. Interment will follow at the Clermont Cemetery in Fairmont, WV.
