Obituary of Robert Lee Orr
Mr. Robert Lee Orr, 82 years of age of Bridgeport, WV passed away at his residence on September 25, 2016 surrounded by loving family. He was born December 22, 1933 in Meadowbrook, WV the son of the late Willard and Bernice Fox Orr.
Robert is survived by his wife and the love of his life, Betty Jo Duncan Orr, whom he married June 19, 1954. Also surviving are three daughters, Deborah Jo Mano and her husband Michael of Mt. Clare, WV, Bobbie Sue Maust and her husband David of Powell, OH and Tamara Leigh Thompson and her husband Brian of Downington, PA; six grandchildren, Stacy Hess and her husband Jeff of Maple Lake Community, Beth Nuzum of Bridgeport, WV, Joshua Maust of Columbus, OH, Michael Thompson, Taylor Thompson and Nicole Thompson all of Downington, PA; four great grandsons, Hayden Hess, Camden Hess, Nathan Hess, and Sawyer Nuzum; two sisters Billie Slussar of Morgantown, WV and Bonnie Benedum and her husband Dr. John of Charlotte, NC; a brother-in-law James H. Duncan and his wife Cassandra of Bridgeport, WV and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law Bond Slussar.
He retired from the position of Engineer Supervisor at Bell Atlantic. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Orr gave many volunteer hours to the communities in which he lived. He was past president of the Bridgeport Lions Club, past cabinet secretary of the Lions Club District 29, past member of the Elks Exchange Club, past president of the Morgantown Jaycees and past international director of the Jaycees. He was a member of several organizations including Bridgeport American Legion Post 68, a life member of the B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge, a fifty year member of Clarksburg Lodge #155 A.F.&A.M, 32nd Scottish Rite Mason, Valley of Clarksburg and a Noble of the Mystic Shrine, Nemesis Temple of Parkersburg, WV. He previously served as the past chairman of the St. Albans Town Fair with the proceeds supporting the St. Albans Library.

Bob and Betty enjoyed spending winters in Myrtle Beach. He loved golf and was a member of Arcadian Shores Golf Club, Clarksburg Country Club and Sunny Croft County Club.
A gathering will be held at Bridgeport United Methodist Church, 251 Worthington Drive,
Bridgeport, WV on Monday from noon – 1:00 PM. A Service of Remembrance will be celebrated in the church on Monday, October 3, 2016 at 1:00 PM with Reverend Dr. Ken A. Ramsey, Reverend James T. Lang and Reverend Dr. Dan Kimble presiding.
