Obituary of David Eugene Sauro

David Eugene Sauro, 85, of Fairmont passed away Tuesday, June 7 from Dementia related complications. He was born January 8, 1937 at the old Cook Hospital in Fairmont. His parents were the late Vete Sauro and Dottie Snider Sauro of Tacoma, Washington and Fairmont. David was raised by his maternal grandparents, the late Benjamin Snider and Stella Hess Snider of Norwood and Aunt Mary “May” Snider Vincent. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Barbara Church Sauro, younger brother Larry Sauro from Tacoma, Washington and cousin Tommy Joe Vincent of Norwood. He is survived by his son Michael Sauro and son-in-law Richard Bosley of Fairmont and cousin Linda Vincent Preston of Boothesville. He was retired from Owens Illinois Glass Company and was the owner operator of Dave’s Auto Corral in Fairmont. A graduate of East Fairmont High School, Dave loved his wife and best friend Barb, cars, motorcycles, RV’s, his Schnauzers Eric and Alfie, cats Little Girl and Kitty and his boy Mike… in that order. His sense of humor and non-stop working in his yard will be missed by friends and neighbors. Dave was a regular at the East Fairmont McDonald’s breakfast club and the Marion County Senior Center. He was Methodist by faith. As Dave cared for all animals, please make any memorial contributions to Marion County Humane Society. 2731 Locust Avenue, Fairmont, WV 26554. Arrangements were entrusted to Ford Funeral Home in Fairmont with no visitation or funeral service. A private committal and entombment service was held for family at the Mt.
