Obituary of Delores Jean Friend

Delores Jean Friend, 78, of Fairmont, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. She was born June 15, 1943 in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of the late Felix J. and Mildred A. Milisich Ciszewski. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Spencer Friend whom she married on December 14, 1984. Delores was a graduate of Struthers Senior High School, as well as Webster Junior College. She retired from Philips Lighting in Fairmont where she served as a machine operator. She had previously worked with Westinghouse Corporation in Fairmont, and after retirement she began working with Webster Junior College as a secretary. Delores was a member of the IUE-CWA Local #627. Delores is survived by her daughter, Loretta and her husband Steven Henry of Fairmont, step-son, Raymond S. and his wife Paula Friend, Jr. of Fairmont, her grandchildren, Tabatha Dove and her husband Cris Rowan, Mitchel Baker, her step-grandchildren, Amy Katherine and her husband Dustin Merrill, and Sara Ashley and her husband Jared Martin, as well as five great-grandchildren She is also survived by her sister, Malva L. and her husband Clyde Hughes of Lowellville, OH, and her brother Felix M. and his wife Gloria Ciszewski of Lowellville, OH, as well as several nieces and nephews. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont. Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 from 4PM until 8PM and on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 from 12 noon until 1PM. The funeral will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 1PM with Pastor Randy Vincent officiating. Interment will follow at the Grandview Memorial Gardens in Fairmont.
