Obituary of Robert Anthony "Tony" Meredith

Robert Anthony “Tony” Meredith, 37, of Fairmont, passed away at his residence on Sunday, May 15, 2022. He was born August 27, 1984 in Clarksburg, WV, a son of Robert “Bob” and Tracy Meredith of Fairmont. Tony was a 2003 graduate of East Fairmont High School and worked with M.A. Heston Corporation in Fairmont as an equipment operator for several years. Tony loved music, movies, hunting, and being outdoors. He adored his dog, Bubba. He was an avid fan of motocross racing since he was young. Tony was always a hard worker. Everyone that knew him, knew he had such a big heart, never hesitating to help anyone out. Tony was so many things. He was a loving son, grandson, nephew, cousin. He was a great brother and brother-in-law. Tony was the BEST uncle, his nephew adored him. Most of all Tony was a beautiful friend to everyone. Tony is survived by his parents, Robert “Bob” and Tracy Potesta Meredith, his maternal grandparents, A. Robert and Carolyn Potesta of Shinnston, paternal grandmother Aleda Meredith of Fairmont, his brother, Logan and his wife September Meredith of Fairmont, a nephew Alexander Brooks Meredith. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Tim and Barb Potesta of Fairmont, Jack and Nancy VanSlyke of Shinnston, Tammie and Jerry Pinson of Fairmont, and Tracy Jarvis Potesta of Fairmont, as well as several cousins and close friends, including his lifelong best friend, Matt Heston Tony was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Robert H. Meredith, and his uncle, Rick Potesta. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont. Public visitation will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022 from 2PM until 8PM, and on Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 11AM until 1PM.
