Obituary of Steve James Kish

Steve James Kish, 80, of Fairview, WV passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022 at his residence. He was born June 13, 1941 in Rivesville, WV a son of the late William J. Kish and Anna Dorothy Kropog Kish. He is survived by his wife Patricia Ann Summers Kish of Fairview, WV. He is survived by a son and daughter in law Steve James & Twyla D. Kish Jr. of Rivesville, WV, a daughter Cynthia Maria Kish Weaver of Bunner Ridge Community, 4 step children Jaretta Finch, Chuck Moore and his wife Trish, Kendall Moore and his wife Michelle, and Jason Moore and his wife Kara, a sister and brother in law Mary & Bud Holmes of Jacksonville, Florida, 5 grandchildren Christopher Kish of Fairmont, Logan Kish of Rivesville, Conor Weaver of Bunner Ridge, Devon Weaver of Bunner Ridge, and Cullen Weaver of Bunner Ridge, 9 step grandchildren Evan Moore and his wife Paxton, Aaron Moore, Allison Moore, Marissa Wilson and her husband Jay, Hunter Moore, Eric Finch, Levi Finch, Carson Moore, and Kirston Moore (The apple of his eye), 2 step great grandchildren Marshall Wilson and Lillia Moore and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Elizabeth Ann Eddy. Mr. Kish was a retired long wall operator and continuous mining operator for the Consolidation Coal Company at the Loveridge Coal Mine. He was Catholic by faith, a graduate of Rivesville High School, and attended Fairmont State College. He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was in the Strategic Air Command. The family will receive friends at the Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 Second Street, Rivesville, WV 26588 on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 from 2-8 pm and on Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 10-11 am. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home Thursday at 11:00 am with Reverend Joseph Konikattil, Celebrant. The committal will follow in the West Virginia National Cemetery in Grafton, WV.
