Obituary of Thomas Edward McLeary

Thomas Edward McLeary, 80, of Fairmont, WV passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2022 in the Grafton City Hospital in Grafton, WV. He was born April 3, 1942 in Fairmont, WV, a son of the late Thomas Edward and Florence M. Lynn McLeary. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carolyn Sue Carr McLeary on February 13, 2018. Tom was a Christian by faith and a graduate of Fairmont Senior High School. He retired as a foreman from the Consolidation Coal Mines. He enjoyed collecting and following Hot Rod Cars, and he spent many hours working and restoring his red 1953 Ford truck. Tom was an amazing father, grandfather, and he was devoted to his King Charles Spaniel, Max. Tom is survived by 2 daughters and a son in law Jennifer & Michael Gazsi, of Morgantown, WV, and Tammy Vasco of Fairmont, WV, his grandchildren Logan, Meredith, Ashley, Winnifred, Lina, and Kane, 5 great grandchildren, and his sister Janie Hurley of Maryland. The family has entrusted arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. In accordance with Tom’s wishes, cremation services will take place. A public graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, 49 Rest Haven Road, Fairmont, WV 26554.
