Obituary of Joyce Ann Thorne

Joyce Ann Thorne, 86, of Rivesville, West Virginia died Sunday, March 6, 2016 in the Genesis Fairmont Campus Tygart Center. She was born April 22, 1929 in Morgantown, WV a daughter of the late John Hetrick & Nettie Croston Hetrick. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Seth Thorne. She is survived by her 2 daughters and a son in law Donna & Joe Pozda of Leesburg, VA and Kimberlee Thorne of Bristol, WV, her grandchildren Joseph Pozda III & his fiancé Lucy Diaz, Matthew Pozda & his wife Sarah, Alan Sharp & his wife Joy, Holly Wilson & her husband Eric, Heather Ward & her husband Ryan, Courtnee Sharp, Casey Sharp, Casie Sharp, James Sharp & Josh Sharp, her great grandchildren Lydia & Anna Pozda, Braiden Wilson, Sidda Wilson & Rhett Ward, a sister Ruth Miller of Crown, WV and many nieces & nephews. Mrs. Thorne was preceded in death by 8 brothers and 4 sisters. Mrs. Thorne was a homemaker, an EEG Tech with Ruby Memorial Hospital and also was employed by the Jones Department Store and the Parsons-Sauders Department Store both of Fairmont. She had previously attended the Rivesville United Methodist Church. Mrs. Thorne was a big supporter of the Rivesville High School Band. She enjoyed many activities with friends especially bowling. Mrs. Thorne was a member of the National 600 Bowling Club. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fairmont Food Pantry, the Union Mission of Fairmont or to the Marion County Salvation Army. There will be no visitation or funeral service. A private graveside committal will be held for the family at the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Westover, WV.
