Obituary of Carla Yvonne Michael

Carla Yvonne Michael, 69, of Fairmont, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at her residence. She was born October 27, 1952 in Gully Bridge, WV, a daughter of the late Charles Hansford and Patsy Louise Dotson Akers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Michael, and her son, Wyatt Michael. Carla was a 1970 graduate of East Fairmont High School, and received her Associates degree from Fairmont State College. She retired from Precision Coil in Clarksburg after a career as the traffic control manager. Carla loved her home and spending her time there. She kept a rather extensive garden and enjoyed tending it and reaping it’s produce. Carla was an excellent cook, her hotdog sauce was a family favorite. She loved taking care of her beloved son’s dog, Benji. Carla is survived by her daughters, Tammy Kaye Cattafesta Boyce and her husband Rusty of Fairmont, and Misty Michael Cattafesta and her husband Ryan of Fairmont, her grandsons, Bailey Boyce of Morgantown, and Dalton Boyce of Fairmont, her brother Charles Akers and his wife Debbie of Texas, and her brother-in-law, Rick Davis of Florida. In addition to her husband , son, and parents, Carla was preceded in death by her siblings, Terry Akers, Timothy Akers, and Betty Gaye Davis. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont.
