Obituary of Jimmy "Jim" Earl Lowry

Jimmy Earl Lowry, age 71, of 1036 Indiana Avenue Fairmont, West Virginia and formerly of Crosby, Texas, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2016, in Springfield, Ohio. He was the son of the late Mary Irene and James E. Lowry. He worked for Cleveland Integrity Services as a utility inspector and was employed for most of his life in the pipeline industry. He was a graduate of Eastwood High School in El Paso, Texas and Sul Ross University in Alpine, Texas. Jim served two years in the U.S. Army; he loved American history, and was also a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys. He is survived by his wife Kathy Lowry of Fairmont, WV; two daughters, Elizabeth Smith & her husband Rodney, and Catherine Lowry & Alex. He has three step daughters: Tiffany Lyons, Natalie Dieterich and Lucinda McCartney; two stepsons: Shannon McCartney & his wife Mili, and Scott McCartney & his wife Lynnette; one sister Linda Begley & her husband Kevin, one brother, Bryan Lowry & his wife Yvette; nine grandchildren: Alexis Smith, Damian (Pooh Bear) Lowry & Farrah, Scotti Brooke Rogers, Tori Jo McDaniel, Taylor McDaniel, Cajun McCartney, Candice McCartney, and Cadence and Ryan Belcher; Three great grandchildren: Oliver (Ziggy) Barker , Ellis & Harper Quinn Rogers; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Ann Moats and Barbara Vaughn; several nieces and nephews; cousins including a special cousin, Saundra Lowry; and two furry kids, Maxwell and Houston. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Laquitta Higgins and one brother, Ryan Lowry. The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554, on Thursday, September 22, 2016, from 12 noon until 1 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday at 1 p.m. A committal service will follow at the West Virginia National Cemetery in Pruntytown.
