Obituary of Delores Spatafore Zbosnik

Delores Spatafore Zbosnik, 91 years young went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born on August 26, 1930, daughter of the late Samuel and Rosa (Lucente) Spatafore in Gloucester County, NJ. Delores was raised by her aunt and uncle, Luigi and Mary Mazzie in Berryburg, WV. She was married to Albin Zbosnik, her one true love for 42 years until his passing. Delores is survived by her children, Alanna George and her husband Randol, Dennis Zbosnik and his wife Sheila, and Jacqueline Rueger and her husband Robert; seven grandchildren, Evertt Boyer, Amy Knotts, Gwyn Freeman and her husband Todd, Keith Zbosnik and his wife Heidi Zbosnik, Sheena Zbosnik and her wife Ashley Ruble, Kandice Clark and her husband Patrick, and Nicolette Rueger; 11 great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces that she enjoyed their company. She was preceded in death by her second-born daughter, Candace Elaine Zbosnik. Delores adored her longtime companion, Chewy, her Yorkie. She loved being active and never liked sitting around. Delores spent her time crocheting, reading, quilting, and spending time with family and friends. In retirement, she traveled with family and friends enjoying great adventures and laughter. In later years, she enjoyed writing her memoirs on her laptop reminding herself of all the family gatherings and trips. Delores retired from the Barbour County Board of Education after 24 years of service as a Title 1 Aid and Media Specialist. She was well known for her pizzelles, meatballs, and spaghetti sauce. Delores was a member of Fairmont Christian Assembly. The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, R.C. Jones Chapel, 1410 Country Club Road, Fairmont, WV 26554, on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Thursday, March 10, 2022, from 12 noon until 2 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at 2 p.m. with Pastor George Batten officiating.
