Obituary of Pola J. Honce
Mrs. Pola J. Honce, 87 years of age of Bridgeport, WV passed away suddenly following a battle with dementia. She was born July 19, 1929 in Baxter, WV the daughter of the late Jesse and Rose Kolvek King. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph A. Honce in 2005.
Mrs. Honce is survived by a son Joseph Honce and his wife Cheryl of Bridgeport, WV; a daughter Debbie Hornung and her husband Mike of Buffalo, NY; seven grandchildren Joseph Honce and his wife Bethany of Morgantown, WV, Michael Honce of Bridgeport, WV, Rebekah Honce of Memphis, TN, Kristine Pottle and her husband Bill of Buffalo, NY, Katherine Fruehauf and her husband Scott of Buffalo, NY, Kimberly Grainger and her husband Paul of Buffalo, NY and Kara Kerwin and her husband Mike of Bethesda, MD; six great grandchildren Wylie Pottle, Gabbie Fruehauf, Violet Kerwin, William Fruehauf, Reed Honce and Bode Honce; one sister Leona Puskas of Grant Town, WV and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two brothers Henry and Jesse King and one sister Jennie Heard.
Pola was a proud homemaker that previously worked as a cashier at Thorofare in Nutter Fort. The game of baseball was part of the Honce family. She watched many games of baseball and softball played by her grandchildren, son and husband when he played in the Independent League. Pola was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in Bridgeport and had a special interest of needle work.
Friends will be received at the Ford Funeral Home, 215 East Main Street, Bridgeport, WV on Friday from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM. A Catholic Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at All Saints Catholic Church, 317 East Main Street, Bridgeport, WV on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 10:00 AM with Reverend Father Benedict Kapa presiding. The interment will follow in the Bridgeport Cemetery, Bridgeport, WV.
