Obituary of David Allen Fisher

David Allen Fisher, 77, of Fairmont passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born in Farmington on June 26, 1944, a son of the late Cloyd Lloyd Fisher and Mary Katherine Myers Fisher. David is survived by his wife, Joan Carol Meneffee Fisher; two sons, David S. Fisher and his wife Diahann of North Carolina and Jeffrey T. Fisher and his wife Deanna of Fairmont; four grandchildren, Tessa Blake, Tanner Woods, Andrew Fisher, and Caitlyn Fisher; and two great-grandchildren, Waylon and Nova. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a daughter, Kristina Woods; granddaughter, Joanna Hope Fisher; his brother, Daniel Fisher; and his sister, Denise Accord. David believed in being a Christian above all and was Church of Christ by faith. He was addicted to hunting and enjoyed gardening and watching sports. David was a graduate of Farmington High School and had worked at Fairmont State College, the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center, and at Westinghouse. The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554, on Saturday, February 19, 2022, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at 1 p.m. A private committal service will take place for the family at Oddfellows Cemetery in Farmington.
