Obituary of Madelyn Lillian Toothman

On December 20th, 2021, at 100 years young, Madelyn Lillian Toothman also known as “Lil”, “Gladys”, and “Mamaw”, passed away peacefully in her home in Mannington WV. She was born March 27th 1921, a daughter of the late Fred and Goldie Bell Huey. She graduated from Mannington High school in 1940, and married her husband, Rupert Clyde Toothman in 1946. She had many jobs in this life, most notably being a loving mother and grandmother. Madelyn enjoyed travel and for a time spent her summers in West Virginia, and enjoyed her winters in Arizona. She is survived by a legacy of love; two daughters, Andrea Ryan and her husband Thomas of Mannington, and Marilyn Ray of Arizona. Seven grandchildren; Laura Gorbey, Dustin Ryan, and Rebekah Stahl, all of Mannington; Matthew Hess,Nicole Riley, Brandon Hess,and Erikka Finch all of Arizona; Twelve great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, five nieces and nephews and countless other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, mother and father, her two sisters, Janice Zirkle and Frances Crenovich, her brother, Harry Bert Huey and his wife Paula, her son, Douglas Toothman and many other close family and friends. Memorial donations may be made to the family through the care of Ford Funeral Home located on 201 Columbia St. Fairmont, WV. 26554. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV. A graveside committal service will be held at the Mannington Memorial Park on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Bill Toothman officiating.
