Obituary of Karen Kay Browning
Karen Kay Browning of Morgantown passed away peacefully and painlessly on Monday, December 13, 2021, after a 13-year battle with metastatic breast cancer. Kay was born in Fairmont on December 9, 1957, daughter of the late Betty Lee Squires Keener.
Kay is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Keith Browning; step-son, Matthew Browning and his wife Robyn of Exeter, UK; grandchildren, Silby and Edwin Browning; brother, Allan Keener and his wife Lou Ann of Fairmont; special great-nephew, William Allan Keener; as well as several nieces, nephews including Scott Keener and his wife Amber and Cam Keener and his wife Carrie, and brothers and sisters-in-law.
Kay was a 1976 graduate of East Fairmont High School. She was a homemaker and formerly employed in fine jewelry sales. Kay was baptized two weeks ago and was ready for eternity. She loved her brother and family, Keith and his family, her grandchildren, her home, her neighbors, and her beloved pets, Rhett, Jill, Quincy, Gansey, and Patrick.
The family requests memorial contributions be made in Kay’s memory to the Norma Mae Huggins Cancer Research Endowment Fund, 1 Medical Center Dr., Morgantown, WV 26506.
The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554, on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at 11 a.m. with Reverend Jim Zinn officiating.
