Obituary of Loretta M. Williams

Loretta Williams, of Fairmont, WV, died on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at her residence. She is survived by her husband A. Brent Williams. Loretta was a retired special education teacher and also an amateur musician who composed numerous songs for the piano. She was a member of the SDA Church of Fairmont where she was the pianist for over 25 years. She also wrote and illustrated several Christian children’s books. During her adult life, wherever she lived, she provided praise and prayer in music for local nursing homes, most recently the Arbors in Fairmont until ill health prevailed. She was grateful for her church family and many faithful friends, along with her husband and children, who stayed with her and gave her comfort during her cancer journey. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sister Elizabeth Scott of Independence, VA, and Elizabeth’s children and their families. Also surviving are her three sons, Christopher Dillon, his wife Van and their child Contessa; Randy Dillon, his fiancé Candace and his children Colton, Garrett and Abigail; and Robert Dillon, his wife Debbie and their children Haley and Robby and step-grandchildren Danielle, Jen, Brooke, and their families. Loretta is also survived by Debbie’s brother Franklin Weimer, son-in-law Gregory Winston and grandsons Kyle and Max Winston. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents Larry and Virginia Morris, her step-daughter Wendy Winston, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont. In keeping with her wishes, cremation services will take place. A memorial service will be held at the Fairmont Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 9 Oakwood Road, Fairmont, WV 26554, on Sunday, November 28, 2021, at 3 p.m. A meal will take place following the service.
