Obituary of Rose Dale Haught

Rose Dale Haught, 99, of Fairmont, passed away on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born November 8, 1921 in Farmington, WV a daughter of the late Lonnie O. Fluharty and the late Emma Wright Fluharty Kinty. Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Truman H. Haught. Rose was a graduate of Farmington High School, and a member of the Oakwood Road Church of Christ where she served as a past Sunday school teacher and had previously made the communion wafers. She was a secretary throughout her career and had worked with the Marion County Health Department, and had previously worked with the office of Dr. Robin Smith, as well as the Marion County School System at Central School. Rose was an avid antique collector and enjoyed working on her rooster, chicken, and owl collectibles. She loved to quilt, read, work crosswords, and write poetry. She enjoyed the gardens she designed at her home, and loved to cook for her family, especially her fried green tomatoes, her bread, and her pepperoni rolls. Rose had enjoyed traveling with her husband and camping at many state parks. Ever the secretary, she enjoyed taking her grandchildren to Adams Office Supply to check out the office supplies. Rose’s greatest hobby was her family, she enjoyed taking care of all of them. Rose is survived by her daughter, Julie and her husband William Mike of Davys Run, her daughter by choice, Tonya Craig, her grandchildren, Megan and her husband David Lake, Mya Willis, and Hunter Mike, her great-grandchildren, Lance Corporal Damian and his wife Naztasja Hughes, Zoe Willis, Hope Canfield, Daylin Lake, and Ashtin Lake, as well as her great-great-grandson, Kai Eric Hughes. She is also survived by her brother, Fred Fluharty and her sister, Virginia Kisner both of Fairmont, and several nieces and nephews In addition to her husband, Rose was preceded in death by her daughter, Sue Ellen “Susie” Haught on August 15, 2020, her brother, Lonnie “Bud” Fluharty, and her sisters, Betty Steele and Mildred Cooper. Memorial donations may be made to the Arbor Day Society, The Arbor Day Foundation 211 N. 12th Street, Lincoln, NE 68508, or to the Disability Action Center, 102 Benoni Avenue, Fairmont, WV 26554 The family has entrusted care and arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday, October 30, 2021 from 2PM until 4PM and 6PM until 8PM, and on Sunday, October 31, 2021 from 11AM until 1PM. The funeral will be held in the funeral home on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at 1PM with Evangelist Brent Gallagher officiating. The interment will follow at the Mt.
