Obituary of Michael Thomas Deien

Michael Thomas Deien devoted husband, father, brother and loyal friend,41 of Bridgeport, WV formerly of Belleville, IL was welcomed into the Kingdom of Christ On September 28, 2021 after a hard fought battle of COVID-19. “It is, what it is” Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife of 15 years Andrea, their 6 year old son Lawson who will carry on his daddy’s legacy, his sister in law Rachel Ann Wilson (Fiancé Jeremy Matko) whom he raised as his own child from a young age and his best dog Remington. Michael was employed by Multi-Chem in Washington, PA as a Chemical Account Manager. His greatest joy was his son Lawson. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, golfing playing softball & poker. He will be remembered by most as a fierce competitor, stubborn to the core, genuine, sincere, dedicated and hardworking, and often the life of the party with an infectious smile. Also left behind to mourn his loss; his father Thomas Deien of St. Libory, IL, two sisters Sandy (Bradley) Merrill of Freeburg, IL and Jennifer Eversole (Phil) of Ballwin, MO; his favorite fishing buddy Uncle Dennis (Shelly) Kennedy of Springfield, IL and the coolest nieces and nephews, Kinleigh, Noah, Dylan, Cohen, Cami & Lilly. In addition Michael leaves behind his lifelong chosen family; Bryan Hooton, Gary & Evonne Smith, Mikey & Brittany Cox (His Second Wife) Johnny Cox, Josh Turner and a host of other relatives & friends whom he loved dearly. In lieu of flowers in memory of Michael a fund has been set up for Lawson at the Fairmont Federal Credit Union, 680 Genesis Blvd, Bridgeport, WV 26330. The Family of Michael would like to express their sincerest gratitude to our Angels on Earth at UHC who are working in the critical Care Department We Love you, we appreciate you and we will continue to pray for you all as you continue to endure this difficult journey. Your kindness, compassion, Love and support in the care you have shown Michael and I will never be forgotten. A Gathering with family and friends will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021 at the Ford Funeral Home, 215 East Main Street, Bridgeport, WV from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM. A private service will follow at 7:00 PM. The family requests those attending to wear masks and to social distance.
