Bryant Joseph “B.J.” Smith, 41, of Rivesville, passed away on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at his residence. He was born in Allentown, PA on May 5, 1980, a son of Vernon Paul Smith of Palmerton, PA and Roxann Smith of Rivesville. In addition to his parents, B.J. is survived by his brothers, Travis Michael Loughery and his wife Jeanie of Rivesville and Kyle Matthew Smith and his wife Allison of Rivesville; aunts, Laurel Loughery and her fiancé Bill Welch, Kim Loughery, and Pam Loughery; uncles, Donald “Bud” Loughery and his wife Roxanne, Frank Loughery, and Phillip Loughery and his wife Darlene; a very special niece, Madison Elizabeth Smith and nephew, Easton Matthew Smith whom he dearly loved with all his heart and they loved their Uncle “Bubba”; several cousins; many special friends; and his forever fur friend cat, Sammy. B.J. was preceded in death by an aunt, Shari Loughery and an uncle, David "Bim" Loughery. B.J. was a graduate of Fairmont Senior High School and attended Fairmont State University. He was a member of Rivesville United Methodist Church and previously worked as assistant manager of the White Hall Little General Store. B.J. loved music, working as a DJ, singing karaoke, roller skating at Skate Away in Bellview, and spending time with his precious niece, nephew, and family. The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, Second & Jasper St., Rivesville, WV 26588, on Thursday, September 30, 2021, from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Friday, October 1, 2021, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, October 1, 2021, at 1 p.m. with Reverend Stanley Merrifield and Pastor David Stilgenbauer officiating.
