My heart goes out to the Powell family at this time. I pray that the Lord will comfort and strengthen you all as you morn the passing of your patriarch.
I knew Joe first in a professional setting over 30 years ago where we each thought the other may be our enemy. Thanks to a mutual friend we came together, cautiously at first and discovered that there were many things that we agreed upon. My respect and admiration for Joe grew and we became friends even though we were not always together on every issue. I will always have fond memories of Joe, and the statesman way he fulfilled his responsibilities to his calling.
May the Lord fill your hearts and minds with wonderful memories at this time.
