Obituary of Mary Ann Amos

Mary Ann Amos, 78, of Fairmont passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at her residence. She was born in East Rochester, PA on September 28, 1942, a daughter of the late Harry Mathews Reed and Mary Zubert Reed. Mary Ann is survived by two sons, Bob Amos and his wife Amy of Winchester, VA and Doug Amos and his wife Rosella of Fairmont; daughter, Melissa Garrett and her husband Dave of Fairmont; six grandchildren, Matthew Amos, Alex Amos, Hannah Amos, Tanner Amos, Connor Garrett, and Evan Garrett; brother, Elmer Reed and his wife Josie of Monaca, PA; and two sisters, Dorothy Dille and her husband Guy of Valencia, PA and Myrtle Reed of East Rochester, PA. In addition to her parents Mary Ann was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Owen Amos Jr.; three brothers, Herbert Reed, Harry “Junior” Reed, and Eddie Reed; and a sister, Mabel Reed. Mary Ann was a 1960 graduate of Rochester High School. She was an active volunteer at Fairmont General Hospital and managed the gift shop for many years. Mary Ann was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved her grandchildren and was always ready to travel to watch them play sports, visit, and vacation with them. Mary Ann had many amazing girl friends who liked to travel and explore other parts of the world together. Her loving and caring personality made it very easy to love her back. The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554, on Sunday, August 1, 2021, from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. and on Monday, August 2, 2021, from 12 noon until 1 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, August 2, 2021, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Brian Cole officiating.
