Obituary of Leah Marie Stackhouse

Leah Marie Stackhouse, 34, of Fairmont, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, July 6, 2021. She was born July 20, 1986 in Morgantown, WV, a daughter of Roger L. Stackhouse and the late Crystal D. Toothman. Leah was a 2004 graduate of North Marion High School and attended Fairmont State University where she studied accounting. She was a Christian by faith and had attended St. Paul Baptist Church in Fairview during her youth. Leah had previously worked at First Energy in the call center, as well as Country Connections in Fairmont. Leah had enjoyed playing on the North Marion High School softball team. She was a meticulously organized person and enjoyed refinishing antique furniture. Leah loved spending time with her friends and shopping. She was very artistic and enjoyed working with colored pencils. In addition to her father, Leah was survived by her brother, Michael Stackhouse of Fairmont, her sister Jamie Wilson of Morgantown, her step-mother Donetta Gillespie, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. In addition to her mother, Leah was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, George and Martha Stackhouse, and her paternal grandparents, Walden “Shine” and Josephine Toothman. Friends and family may visit on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 from 12 noon until 6PM. A memorial service will be held in the funeral home at 6PM with Reverend Larry Buckland officiating.
