Obituary of Betty Jean Horvath

Betty Jean Horvath, 85, of Rivesville, West Virginia died Sunday, May 23, 2021 at her residence. She was born July 9, 1935 in Fairmont, WV a daughter of the late Milton Carpenter and Bessie Hawkins Carpenter. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Horvath. She is survived by her son Charles Junior Horvath and his fiancé Francene of Rivesville, WV, who were her loving caregivers for many years. Betty is also survived by a brother Frank Carpenter of Rivesville, WV, a granddaughter Angel Vance and her husband Shawn Vance of Virginia, and a great grandson Hunter Vance of Virginia. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers George Carpenter, Jim Carpenter & Charles Carpenter, and 2 sisters Lily Carpenter Perkins & Grace Carpenter Perkins. Betty was a homemaker and enjoyed baking for her family, especially for birthday parties. She always loved being entered in bake-off competitions at the West Virginia State Fair. The family would like to thank Amedysis Hospice and Francene for their love, comfort and support. The family will receive friends at the Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 Second Street, Rivesville, WV 26588 Wednesday, May 26, 2021 from 1-8 p.m. and Thursday, May 27, 2021 from 10 – 11 a.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Bill Toothman officiating.
