Obituary of Robert A. "Bob" Berry
Robert A. “Bob” Berry, 79, of Rivesville, went to be with the Lord at his home on Sunday, May 16, 2021. He was born July 8, 1941 in Marion County, WV, a son of the late Cecil A. and Ruth A. Michael Berry.
Bob was a proud lifelong resident of Rivesville. He attended the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church of Rivesville. He dedicated over forty years of his life as the owner and operator of Berry’s Trucking in Rivesville. He was a leader in the coal trucking business where he ran the trucks for Rivesville, Fort Martin, and Albright Powerplants for many years. Bob was a good man with a big heart and would give anyone an opportunity in life. He was loved all over by trucker’s and friends alike.
Bob is survived by his three grandchildren, Aron Berry, Amanda Berry, and Dylan Berry all of the Marion County area, his three great-grandchildren, Ledger, Mikey, and Liam, his sister, Elizabeth Ann “Libby” and her husband George Lemley of Rivesville, and his nieces, Sandy and her husband Bobby Secreto of Rivesville, and Kim and her husband Brian Shockley. Bob is also survived by his special great-niece, Alex Secreto, several other nieces and nephews, including Jenny, Brian, and Brad, his two step-daughters, Sherry Fox and Betty Jane Saab, his wonderful and loving dog Coal., and his good friend Bill Beatty, who loved and took care of him over the years.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his son, Alan Berry, and his brother Butch Berry.
The family has entrusted the arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, Second and Jasper Streets, Rivesville, WV 26588. In accordance, with Bob’s wishes, cremation services will take place. Public visitation services will be held in the funeral home on Sunday, June 6, 2021 from 2PM until 4PM. Private family memorial services will take place at a later date.
