Obituary of Katherine Sue Trader Holcomb

Katherine Sue Trader Holcomb, 64, of Monongah passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. She was born in Fairmont on December 27, 1956, a daughter of the late James Thomas Trader and Mary Jo Hall Trader. Katherine is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, John Edward Holcomb; daughters, Jennifer Jenkins and her husband Jeff of Fairmont and Melissa Moyers and her husband Tony of Martinsburg; seven grandchildren, Timothy Jenkins and his wife Savannah of Fairmont, Rebekah Jenkins of Fairmont, Abigail Jenkins of Fairmont, Jessica Jenkins of Fairmont, Kristina Redman of Martinsburg, Amber Hunter and her husband Daniel of Austin, TX, and Lauren Sanchez and her husband Ricky of Austin, TX; six great-grandchildren, Mariah Hunter, Alana Hunter, Jonas Jenkins, Ryland Jenkins, Cassius Hunter, Jaylen Zdziera, and Graceleigh Jenkins arriving in June of 2021; brothers, Jimmy Trader and his wife Bonnie of Ona and Bobby Trader and his wife Sandi of Virginia Beach, VA; sisters, Jane Baker of Fairmont and Mary Ann Whiting of Fairmont; mother-in-law, Kathleen King; sisters-in-law, Robin Wilson and her husband Harold, Julie Tenney and her husband Jake, Donna Smith and her husband Luke, and Sandy DiMartino and her husband Joe; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Katherine was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Charlie King and brothers-in-law, George Whiting and John Simons. Katherine retired from Allegheny Power Company and had formerly worked at the White Hall Book & Crafts. She was a member of Monongah Baptist Church. Katherine enjoyed attending local craft shows and helped as a wedding planner for many family members and friends. She was known for her ribbon bow making and making peanut butter eggs. The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554, on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Thursday, May 6, 2021, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, May 6, 2021, at 2 p.m. with Pastor David Huckins officiating.
