Obituary of Samuel Isabella Jr.
Mr. Samuel Isabella Jr. of Morning View Lane, Bridgeport passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at United Hospital Center, Bridgeport, WV. He was born June 23, 1932 in Flemington, WV the son of the late Sam and Josephine Isabella Sr.
Sam was a 1950 graduate of Flemington High School. During his high school years, he met Shirlene Shreve and they became high school sweet hearts. They were married at All Saints Catholic Church by Reverend Father Charles R. Carroll on September 4, 1955. As a couple, they used their Christian faith to raise a wonderful family and help others. They celebrated sixty-five years of marriage.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Following his honorable discharge, he began his studies at West Virginia University. He graduated from the School of Pharmacy in 1962. He celebrated fifty years of being a pharmacist and retired from Byard Pharmacy in Clarksburg.
Sam is also survived by a son Mark Isabella and his wife Anne of Avondale, PA; four daughters Melissa Digby and her husband Mike of Ottawa Lake, MI, Melanie Chancey and her husband Mike of Bridgeport, WV, Machelle Cava and her husband Dan of Bridgeport, WV and Melinda Bartlett and her husband Chuck of Bridgeport, WV; grandchildren John, Luke and Grace Isabella, Matthew, Mitchell and Mia Digby, Katelyn Chancey Williams and her husband Matt and Kendall Chancey, Salvatore, Santino and Sarah Cava, Brooke and Brandon Bartlett and great grandson Gunner Williams. He was also preceded in death by a brother Tom Isabella Sr. and three sisters Flora Richardson, Rose Marie White and Mary Ann Marks.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Sam’s memory to Shepherd’s Corner, PO Box 101, Bridgeport, WV 26330.
