Obituary of Glen Herbert Watkins Jr.
Glen Herbert Watkins Jr., 71, of Montana Mines passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2021, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. Glen was born in Fairmont on June 29, 1949, the son of the late Glen Herbert Watkins Sr. and Mary Elma Summers Watkins.
Glen is survived by his loving wife, Donna Jo Radcliff Watkins; sons, Glen Watkins and his wife Desiree of Montana Mines, William Watkins and his wife Shanna of Fairmont, Kenny Watkins of Montana Mines, David Watkins and his fiancé Mandy Bowman of Montana Mines, and Jay Parker of Fairmont; grandchildren, Kylie Paige Watkins, Will “Bubba” Watkins Jr., Garrett Watkins, Trent Watkins, Mason Watkins, Kimberly Markley, and Eric Parker; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Spencer and her husband Jim of Fairmont, Mary Leasure of Mannington, Martha Hendershot of Belington, and Rose Wilson of Buckhannon; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Glen was Christian by faith and retired coal miner from Patriot Coal Company at the Federal No. 2 Mine in Blacksville. He was a member of the U.M.W.A. and enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, mud bogs, and demolition derbies. He loved spending time with his family and his loving dogs Coco and Duke.
The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, WV 26554, on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Thursday, April 15, 2021, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at 11 a.m. with Mr. Danny Moran officiating.
