Obituary of Dollie Michelle Smallwood

Dollie Michelle Smallwood, 52, of Grant Town, passed away on Friday, March 19, 2021 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was born October 31, 1968 in Fairmont, WV a daughter of the late John R. Pyles and the late Ivy JoAnn Martin Kendall. Dollie was a 1986 graduate of North Marion High School and went on to earn a degree in phlebotomy. She was a Christian by faith and spent her entire career in the medical field. She worked for over 16 years as a phlebotomist serving with various medical facilities and ended her career with Ruby Memorial Hospital where she worked with patient safety. Dollie enjoyed creating craft projects and crocheting. She loved working outside with her flowers and enjoyed going berry picking. But her greatest joy were her four beloved grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Dollie is survived by her three children, John and his wife Erin Smallwood, Justin Bowser, and Chelsey Bowser, all of Grant Town, her four beloved grandchildren, and her longtime companion, Michael Bowser. Dollie belonged to a very large and extended family, and is survived by many brothers and sisters. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the givers’ choice in Dollie’s memory. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, Second and Jasper Streets, Rivesville, WV 26588. In keeping with Dollie’s wishes, cremation services will take place. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021 from 10AM until 11AM in the funeral home. The memorial service will be held in the funeral home at 11AM with Pastor Jim Burrows officiating.
