Obituary of Earl Clayton Martin

Earl Clayton Martin, age 83 of Fairmont, WV passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. He was born January 2, 1938 in the town of Eglon in Preston County, WV. He was the eldest son of the late Ronald Rodney Martin and Leota Irene Fike Martin. He is survived by his wife of twelve-years Freda Robinson Cale Martin; two sons Bryan (Tracy) Martin of Wana, WV and Kevin (Evangeline) Martin of Houston, TX; one stepson Edward Cale of Fairmont; one stepdaughter Brenda Parsons of Morgantown; one sister Cathrine “Kay” Shuman of Fairmont; one special niece Kellie (Tom) Bajus and their children Erin and Kaitlyn of Fairmont and grandchildren including Travis Morris, Heather Morris, Austin Cale, Addison Cale, Meisha Martin, Kensey Martin, Ashlee Hose, Tiara Blosser, & Ahzjah Martin; great grandchildren include Jayce Baliker, Cameron Morris, Audrey Morris, Sophia Morris, Noah Morris, Bentley Pelter, JaeLynn Hose, and Tatum Blosser. He also survived by two sisters-in-law Rhonda Martin of Mannington and her son Jason Martin of Snellville, GA and Nancy Robinson of Morgantown. He was also preceded in death by his first wife Lois Chittester Martin in 2002; an infant son Rodney and a brother Reid Martin. Earl was a 1956 graduate of Aurora High School. He worked at Fairmont General Hospital and delivered flowers for Hauges Flower and Garden Center. He was a faithful member of Mt. Harmony Community Church. He was an avid gardener and loved raising his garden to share with family and friends. He found peace and relaxation spending summers at Twin Lakes Campground. Friends will be received at the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV on Saturday from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM and on Sunday from noon – 8:00 PM. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, masks and social distancing will be required. The funeral service will be celebrated in the funeral home in Monday, March 8, 2021 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Cheryl White and Pastor Ruth Hall presiding.
