Obituary of Florence "Marie" Nine

Florence “Marie” Nine, 91, of Catawba Community died Monday, August 1, 2016 in the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia. She was born December 17, 1924 in Fairmont, WV the daughter of the late Clarissa Swisher. She was preceded in death by her husband William Irvin Nine. She is survived by a daughter and son in law Cheryl & Bob Culp of Catawba Community, four sons and three daughter in laws Denny & Dorothy Nine of Dresden, NY, Rick & Cindy Nine of Rock Hill, SC, Larry Nine of Clarksburg, WV and Billy & Laura Lee Swisher of Catawba Community, six grandchildren Kim Hardesty, Tonya Hubbard, Kristy Knight, Dan Martin, Nicole Coon and Sara Culp, eight great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Ronald Swisher, a granddaughter Katie Marie Culp and a great grandson Joseph Arlie Knight. Mrs. Nine was a former clerk for the Craig Motor Company of Fairmont and also a former cook for the Marion County Board of Education at Catawba Elementary. She is a member of the Catawba United Methodist Church, Choir and United Methodist Women. Marie was a 1942 graduate of East Fairmont High School, member of the Mt. Harmony Homemakers Club and an active volunteer in the Catawba Community. The family will receive friends at the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554 Thursday, August 4, 2016 from 1-8 p.m. and Friday, August 5, 2016 from 10-11 a.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home Friday at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Gary Steele officiating.
