Obituary of Dale Wilson Barth Jr.

Dale Wilson Barth Jr., 80, of Fairmont passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at his residence. He was born on October 17, 1940, a son of the late Dale W. Barth Sr. and Dessie Maxine Toothman. Dale is survived by his daughter, Pamela R. Barth Haught of Rivesville; grandsons, Evan Andrew Smith and Samuel Dale Smith of Rivesville; niece, Darletta Stout and her husband Steven of Bridgeport; nephew, Ronald Barth and his wife Linda of Chicago, IL; sister-in-law, Lorraine Barth of Bridgeport; several very close cousins in Ohio; and close friends, Jamie Colanero, Dave Patterson, Coach Tim Koenig and the Fairmont State University Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams. In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his ex-wife of 28 years, Evelyn C. Martin; step-son, Benjamin W. Barth; and brother, Walter Barth. Dale grew up in Shinnston and moved to Fairmont around 1957 and earned a Business Degree from Fairmont State College. He worked at Bradshaw Hydraulics, Fairmont Family & Loan, Harry Green Chevrolet, and Guardian Industries. Dale enjoyed Fairmont State Men’s and Women’s basketball, golf, East Fairmont High School Girls’ softball, and the beach. The family has entrusted arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 2nd and Jasper St., Rivesville, WV 26588. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
