Obituary of Ruth Ann Glass

Ruth Ann Glass, of 122 Mountaineer Park, Morgantown, WV and formerly of Grafton, WV, passed away on March 27, 2017 at 1:15 p.m. at the Mon General Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 30, 1946, a daughter of the late Cecil R. and Edna Beckman Miller of Grafton, WV. Ruth Ann spent several years in Texas and loved to go on cruises. She was a webmaster and wrote poetry, including the world famous “Letter From Heaven” which was read at the funeral of Pope John Paul II. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Paul R. Glass, two children, a son, Tim Kirby and wife Michelle of Grafton and daughter, Kimberly Kirby Jackson and husband Andy of Coxs Mill, WV; four grandchildren, Lexie and Richonna Jackson and Macy and Tyler Kirby. She also leaves behind two sisters, Kathy Lowry and the late Jimmy Earl of Fairmont, WV and Barbara Vaughn and the late Charles of Pittsburgh, PA. She is survived by nieces and nephews, Scott, Cindy and Shannon McCartney, Carole, Trudy and Russell Vaughn, Ruth Ann Stump and Rita Boyle. Also surviving is her furry feline kid, Mr. Bo Jangles. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Richard Mahaffey and Delbert Moats, two sisters, Gerri Boyle and Betty Stump and three nephews, James Boyle, Jack Boyle and Jack Stump. At Ruth Ann’s request, she will be buried at the Woodsdale Memorial Park with a graveside service, with her family in attendance. There will be no viewing or any other services.
