Obituary of Belva Myrtle (Stout) Morris Ewing

Belva Myrtle (Stout) Morris Ewing, 82, of the Brushy Fork Community, WV, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at the Mountain Living Community in Belington, WV. She was born March 21, 1942 in Clarksburg, WV a daughter of the late Harry James Stout and Eva Louise (Cain) Stout. She was the first grandchild of the late Lloyd Long Stout and Ola Myrtle (Radcliff) Stout, as well as a granddaughter of the late Leondias Cain and Rebecca Jane (Adams) Cain. Belva was a graduate of Philippi High School, Class of 1960, as well as West Virginia Business College in Fairmont, Class of 1961. She worked at the Eagle Convex Glass Factory in Clarksburg, WV. She married her former husband, James Cline Morris in 1964. He was enlisted in the military and they moved to different states where she worked in the military base food services. She worked for Marks Construction Company, cleaning their home and business for several years. She later worked for Hills Department Store in Bridgeport. Belva enjoyed doing crafts, working word search books, hand piecing squares, throws, and quilts. She loved to bake cakes for all occasions including wedding cakes. Belva also baked cookies for people to enjoy in addition to her favorite apple dumplings that were a special treat to everyone. Belva listened to her country, gospel, and religious music while working on her hobbies. Belva is survived by her daughter Sandra Kay (Morris) Cunningham and her husband John “Bubba”, of Bridgeport, her son James Cline Morris, II and his wife Patty, of Clarksburg, her sisters, Gladys Ferguson and her husband Curtis, Lovie Jane Young and her husband Dan of Belington, her brother Harlan Joseph Stout and his wife Melissa of Bridgeport, as well as by her nephews and nieces, and her great-nephews and great-nieces. In addition to her parents and grandparents, Belva was preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela Gay Morris, her granddaughter, Shelby Jade Cunningham, her former husband, James Cline Morris, as well as her former husband, Robert A. Ewing, and her brother, Harry James Stout, II. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, 215 East Main Street, Bridgeport, WV. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 from 3PM until 8PM, and on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 from 10AM until 11AM. The funeral will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 11AM with Rev. Donald Shriver officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt.
