Obituary of Constance "Connie" Rita Moore

Constance "Connie" Rita Moore of State College, PA, formally of Bridgeport, WV passed away peacefully on November 16, 2023. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on December 24, 1926 the daughter of the late Antonio Valdez and Sofia Videl Valdez. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles "Ed" Moore in 1995 and by three sisters and their spouses, Mary (Merced) Gonzales, Antonia (Felix) Esquivel, and Anita (Edward) Gonzales and one brother Antonio Valdez. Mrs. Moore is survived by her daughter Nancy and husband Gary San Julian of State College, one grandson Erik San Julian and his wife Rachel of New Jersey, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Connie was a graduate of St. Gerard's High School in San Antonio. She met Ed during WWII while serving as a hostess at the USO. They married in 1947 and moved to West Virginia. Connie retired as Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager from Bridgeport Bank after 33 years of service. She served as Chairman of Group VI of the West Virginia Bankers Association and was the first State Council Chairman of the National Association of Bank Women. Active in community service, Connie was a District Governor of Lions International District 29-I, a former President of the Wilsonburg Lions Club, past President of the North Central District West Virginia General Federation of Women's Clubs, a past President Woman's Club of Bridgeport, former Area Governor of Toastmasters, and past President of Central West Virginia Toastmasters. Connie performed in several theatrical productions as a member of the Bridgeport Stagecrafters Community Theater. She was a singer and an avid painter. She was a long-time member of All Saints Catholic Church and a past member of the church choir. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Connie's memory to All Saints Church, 317 E. Main Street, Bridgeport, WV 26330 or to Leader Dogs for the Blind, 1039 South Rochester Road, Rochester Hills, MI 48307. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, 215 East Main Street, Bridgeport, WV. Family will receive friends at the All Saints Catholic Church, 317 E. Main Street, Bridgeport, WV from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2023. The Catholic Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in the church on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at 11 AM with Reverend Father Walter Jagela presiding.
