Obituary of Cindy Lou Sole

Cindy Lou Sole, 68, of Fairmont, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023, with her son by her side, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.V. She was born April 27, 1955 in Fairmont, WV a daughter of the late Donald J. Sole and Della M. Pyles Whitecotton Sole. Cindy was a 1974 graduate of East Fairmont High School, as well as a graduate of Fairmont State University with a degree in Business Administration. She worked several years with Rider Pharmacy in Fairmont until she moved to Hundred, WV. For over thirty years, she owned and operated several businesses while living in Hundred, including the thrift store, the liquor store, and the country music venue. She organized three bands each Friday night for over ten years and grew to know and love the band members that she met over the years. In 2010 she and her son moved back to Fairmont and she began working for Walmart for over ten years. Cindy and her son were very close and enjoyed traveling together. Whether it be a “day out” locally or larger trips, she was always ready for an adventure and had her passport ready. They loved attending concerts together including local shows as well as large venues. She loved all genres of music, but they shared the love of heavy metal together. Cindy was a movie buff and enjoyed watching all films, as well as television shows. She is survived by her son, Donald Edward Sole of Fairmont, her sister, Carolyn Whitecotton Boyers and her husband Jerry of Fairmont, and her uncle, Walter “Bob” McNeely of Hundred. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her aunt, Judy McNeely, and her cousin with whom she grew up, Ralph Walsh. Memorial donations may be made to the Pricketts Fort Memorial Foundation, 88 State Park Road, Fairmont, WV 26554. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont. In accordance with her wishes, cremation services have been held. Friends and family are invited to a graveside committal service to be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 10AM at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Westover, WV.
