Obituary of Ruby A. Corwin

Ruby Alice Corwin, 87, of Rivesville, passed away on Friday, September 22, 2023 at the Fairmont Regional Medical Center. She was born June 16, 1936 in Seneca Rocks, WV, a daughter of the late Woodrow Wilson Turner and the late Iva Susan Hedrick Turner Reed. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Edward Corwin on November 4, 1998. Mrs. Corwin was a member of the Highlawns United Methodist Church of Rivesville, as well as a 1954 graduate of Circlevillle High School in Circleville, WV and a 1955 graduate of West Virginia Business College in Fairmont. Ruby had served as a volunteer for 23 years with the Rivesville Middle School PTA, she also volunteered the Rivesville Athletic Association, as well as the Rivesville Town Council for over six years. She enjoyed camping at Big Bear Lake for over 39 years and was an avid reader. Ruby is survived by her daughter, Sue Ann and her husband Phil Lake of Lancaster, S.C., her sons: Richard Edward Corwin II of Lesage, WV, Bradley Corwin of Rivesville, and Eric and his wife Tina Corwin of Rivesville, as well as her several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son Doug Corwin. The family would like to thank the Genesis Tygart Center and the Fairmont Regional Medical Center for the love and care extended to Ruby. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 Second Street, Rivesville, WV. Friends and family are invited to visit on Sunday September 24, 2023 from 4PM until 8PM. The funeral will be held in the funeral home on Sunday at 7PM with Rev. Stanley Merrifield officiating.
