Obituary of Diana Lynne "Cookie" Parker Dawson

Diana Lynne “Cookie” Parker Dawson, 75, of Bentons Ferry, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at the Fairmont Medical Center surrounded by family. She was born March 28, 1948 in Mannington, daughter of the late Marshall Parker and the late Ida May Lehew Parker Miller. Cookie was a 1966 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School in Warren Ohio. She was a former employee of Owens and spent her career as an office administrator throughout various Marion County businesses. She had served as a volunteer with the Marion County Rescue Squad and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and loved feeding the birds and wildlife from her front porch. She is survived by her children Sabrina (Steve) Efaw of Mannington, Holly (Jackie) Martin of Fairmont, Shane (Kim) Dawson of Fairmont, and Melissa (Sean) Stiles of Morgantown; a brother Marshall “Jr” (Linda) Parker of Fairmont; a brother-in-law Jimmy Dawson of Fairmont; a sister-in-law Sharon (Frank) Cosco of Monongah. Grandchildren and spouses include Travis (Kayla) Miller, Heather (James) Wright, Jessica (Tyler) Poling, Alex (Devon) Efaw, Chad Efaw, Devon Martin, Kelsie Martin, Christian Dawson, Billy Streets and Levi Streets; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Linn Dawson; two brothers; Noel Parker and Chester “Roy” Parker; and two sisters-in-law Debbie Parker and Crystal Wolfe. The family has entrusted the arrangements to Ford Funeral Home, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV. In accordance with her wishes, cremation services will be held. Friends and family may celebrate her life at a graveside committal service to be held at 11am on Friday, September 22, 2023 at the WV National Cemetery in Pruntytown, WV.
