Obituary of Crayton Riley Elza

Crayton Riley Elza, 25, of Fairmont passed away on July 30, 2023. He was born a son to Shawn Elza and Andrea Robbins Elza on January 12, 1998 in Morgantown, WV. He is survived by his father, Shawn Elza of Fairmont, his mother, Andrea Elza and her companion John Estel of Fairmont, his sister, Mayson Elza of Morgantown, his grandparents, Bill and Lucille Robbins of Fairmont, his Uncle Brian and Aunt Tara Robbins of Fairmont, along with his Aunt Krystle and Uncle Travis Wolfe of Morgantown. Crayton is also survived by his great-grandmother Mary Elza of Mannington. Crayton is also survived by his great-aunts and uncles; Mary Colacicco of California, Frank and Cathy Newhouse of California, and Cathy Feaster of Colorado. He is also survived by his cousins; Christopher Feaster of Colorado, Rebecca (Becca) and David Gulbernat of Colorado along with Eliza, Emmie, and Everly Wolfe, as well as several other cousins and extended family members. Crayton is also survived by his Companion whom he loved very dearly, Anna Bryan, along with his two dogs, Whiskey Willow, and Quinn. Crayton is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robin Elza and Johnnie Elza, his paternal great-grandparents, John Elza, and Robert and Jesse Crayton, whom he got his name from, his maternal grandparents, Lucy Newhouse, Eugene Newhouse, and his grandparents, Lucille and Ray Robbins. He is also preceded in death by his great-uncle, Fred Feaster. Crayton attended East Fairmont High School and Chestnut Mountain Ranch. He worked as an EMT for both Annmore, West Virginia along with the Doddridge County Rescue Squad. Crayton was a Christian by faith and was known for having an infectious laugh, his huge heart and sense of humor. He loved his family, friends, and his God. Crayton always loved to make people laugh and had never met a stranger in his life. He was always willing to help others and was very innovative in his thinking. He loved being outdoors, playing games, especially spades and video games. Crayton loved fast cars, driving fast, and lived life on the edge. He also enjoyed shooting firearms. The family has entrusted the arrangements to the Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. Friends will be received on Friday, August 4, 2023 from 3 pm until 8pm, and on Saturday, August 5, 2023 from 10 am until 11 am. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday at 11 am. A private committal service will be held at a later date in the Mt. Zion Cemetery and Mausoleum.
