Obituary of Laura C. Campbell

Laura C. Campbell, 69, of Bridgeport, WV, passed unexpectedly at her family home on March 18th, 2022. She left this world behind for a beautiful reunion with her parents who preceded her in death, A. Richard Campbell and Evelyn C Campbell. Also joining in her joyous reunion are her faithful companions of this life, her “babies” Max, Zoe, Winston and Duffy. Laura is survived by her sister, Judy Smith of Bridgeport, her brother and sister in law, Jeffrey and Lisa Campbell of Delaware, her nephews, Adam Smith, Chris Campbell, Greg Metz and Mitchell Alvarez; her nieces, Addie Smith, Sarah Alvarez, Rachel Campbell, Janeane Smith, and Brittany Campbell. Laura is also survived by her many great nieces and nephews who brought her so much joy, Kyden, Izabella, Astrid and Phoenix Smith and Colton Campbell. Laura was blessed with many people who loved her dearly, including her two best friends, Marsha Jones and Fay Jamison who shared her love of dogs, gardening, faith and friendship. Laura was a graduate of Bridgeport high school, Class of 1971. She joined the US Navy in 1973 and travelled the world seeing many beautiful places, which she loved to share stories. She was stationed in Newfoundland, Panama, Diego Garcia, Norfolk, Virginia and in Belgium and the NATO headquarters. Laura loved the time she spent in the Navy and was retired honorably in 1998 as a Yeoman First Class. After retirement, Laura spent her time at home, where she enjoyed gardening, birdwatching, feeding the neighborhood chipmunks and raising her puppies whom she loved like children. Laura also enjoyed the company of her wonderful neighbors on Easy Street, where she was always out and about with a smile and contagious laugh. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 9th at 2pm at Christ Episcopal Church in Clarksburg, WV. Condolences may be extended to the family at www.fordfuneralhomes.com.
