Janet Knoll

Obituary of Janet Louise Knoll

Janet Louise Knoll, 69, of Idamay, went to sleep in Jesus on Good Friday, April 19, 2019, at her residence after a courageous battle to stay with her family. She was born in Fairmont on November 17, 1949, a daughter of the late Milan Kolar and Ruth W. Bainbridge Kolar.

Janet is survived by her loving husband who was at her side throughout her journey, Gary Elee Knoll of Idamay; two daughters, Ann Maria Knoll of Bunner’s Ridge Community and Marcia Louise Pratt and her husband Jay of Barrackville; one grandchild, Lucy Ella Louise Pratt of Barrackville; four brothers, Greg Kolar and his wife Linda of Rivesville, Brian Kolar of Fairmont, Mark Kolar and his wife Anita of Fairmont, and Jeff Kolar and his wife Margaret of Katy Community; two sisters, Jane Morris and her husband Randy of McCurdysville Community and Barbara Kolar of Grant Town; a sister-in-law, Rosetta Kolar of Fairmont; as well as many wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by a brother, Timothy Kolar.

Janet was a graduate of Fairview High School and a retired secretary for the Marion County Board of Education. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Fairmont where she taught Sabbath School classes and had a burden for leading children to Jesus. Janet was dedicated to her Lord and Savior. She was a selfless woman who while suffering immensely prayed to be able to help others. Janet was an avid cook and loved taking care of her family. She lived to help others but her ultimate joy in life was Lucy Ella and her family. Her legacy of loving God and others will live on through the example she gave her family.

“Be happy, be kind, be loving, be true, I’ll meet you in Heaven and live next door to you.”

The family requests memorial contributions be made in Janet’s memory to either God’s Word Broadcasting, PO Box 93, Idamay, WV 26576, or to Lucy Ella Pratt (her College Fund), PO Box 93, Idamay, WV 26576, with a scripture quote, encouraging note or memory of her Meme for Lucy Ella to open at a later date.
