I am so very sorry to hear of the death of a very special person who I grew up with … as childhood friends, we played together, did things together (band, boy scouts, church, etc.), he stood be side me at times of trouble, and simply was one of my best friends … during our high school years, I drove to his house and picked him up every morning; and we would often pick up another close friend (Doug) as we would discuss what we now know to be small things … Don was the first Eagle Scout in our troop in Pleasant Valley; I was the 3rd … we were part of the first group to receive the Boy Scout God and Country award; we attended Sunday school and other church functions ... we were not the most athletic, nor did we have any special talents; we simply were two boys growing up having fun and trying to navigate our way through the 60s … bottom-line, he truly was one of my best friends … after high school graduation we quickly grew apart, but would run into one another from time to time … simply sad how live paths pulls people apart … and, so very sad to hear of his death … special prayers to his wife, daughter, and family
