Obituary of Rollin Edsil Corley, Jr.
Rollin Edsil Corley, Jr, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2018 at Saint Barbara’s Memorial Nursing Home in Monongah, WV. He was born in Charleston, WV May 29, 1944. He graduated from Fairmont Senior High School in 1962 where he met and married Margaret Charlton on March 28, 1964. Jr. pursued a career as an Ironworker with Local Union 549 Wheeling, WV. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #157 A.F. & A.M. in Fairmont and was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, Valley of Clarksburg. He later retired in 2002 at the age of 58. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends while golfing, vacationing at Ocean City, Maryland, spending the winters with his “snowbird” friends at Myrtle Beach, SC, and camping in Lower Glady in Elkins, WV during the “men’s annual trip”.
Jr. is survived by his mother Janice McVicker Corley, wife Margaret Charlton Corley and loving pet, Zoi, daughter Tami and husband Gary Cheslock of Dublin, OH, grandson Dean and fiancé Taylor Ackermann of Royal Oak, Michigan, Baylie and husband Will Zimmerman of Dublin, Ohio, son Robert and wife Sharon, granddaughters Madison and Sydney, of Oakland, MD, daughter Kristi and husband Todd Nuzum, grandchildren Tylyn and Gavin Asterino, step grandchildren Linley and Von Nuzum of White Hall, WV, son Chad and wife Susan, granddaughter Amanda and grandson Hunter of Fairmont, WV, brother Jesse and wife Pam, sister Martha and husband Mark Shreve, brother Cecil and wife Peggy, all of White Hall, WV and several nieces and nephews.
Jr. was proceeded in death by his father Rollin Edsil Corley, Sr.
According to his wishes his body will be cremated and a celebration of life will be held in his honor on July 28, 2018 from 1-4 at the Corley family pool, 10 Jacklin St. White Hall, WV. A short memorial service will be held at 2:00.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in Jr.'s name to Saint Barbara’s Memorial Nursing Home, P.O Box 9066, Monongah, WV 26555.
