Obituary of Lactie Reynolds Calvert
Lactie Reynolds Calvert of Bridgeport passed away Saturday, May, 26, 2018 in the comfort of her home after a long and healthy life. She was born June 23, 1924 in Rainelle, WV a daughter of the late Thomas Staten and Naoma Neff Reynolds. She was preceded in death by her husband Herman P. “Bud” Calvert in 1975 and stood steadfast in their vowels.
Mrs. Calvert was a faithful member of the Bridgeport United Methodist Church and was active in the Esther Ruth Circle. She was also a 50 year member of the Cheylan Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed going to breakfast with her special friends on a daily basis. She lived a clean and healthy life and had faith in the Lord and cared about others.
She is survived by her son Herman P. HP Calvert Jr. and his wife Christina of Bridgeport, and the joy of her life her Grandson John Tyler Calvert and wife Rachel of Morganton WV. Also surviving are her brother Hanley and Byrna Reynolds of Charlotte, NC, her brother in law Glenn Phillips of Brookdale assisted living, Bridgeport WV, sister in law Betty Reynolds of St Albans, WV, brother in law Homer Lee Calvert of Gassaway, WV along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Howard and Ruth Reynolds, and Harold Reynolds; her sisters, Louie and her husband James Six, Lucille and her husband Ray Six, Laura Loreta Phillips, and infant sister Lorena Reynolds.
The family would like to thank Peoples Hospice and caregivers, Kim Minear, Lisa Waugh, Debbie Lipps, Belinda Rollins, Sonya Davis and Amy Eakle. Their care has been immeasurable. Along with the care and support her neighbors have provided during this sickness and over the years.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations be made in their mother’s memory to Peoples Hospice, 327 Medical Park Drive, Bridgeport, WV 26330 or Bridgeport United Methodist Church Permanent Fund, 251 Worthington Drive, Bridgeport, WV 26330.
Friends will be received at the Ford Funeral Home, 215 East Main Street, Bridgeport, WV on Tuesday from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM and at Bridgeport United Methodist Church, 251 Worthington Drive, Bridgeport, WV on Wednesday from 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM. The funeral service will be celebrated in the church on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Reverend Dr. Ken A. Ramsey presiding. The interment will follow in the Good Hope Masonic Cemetery.
