Obituary of Vickie Lynn Vandergrift

Vickie Lynn Vandergrift of Wexford, PA died peacefully after a long battle with cancer. She was with Hospice at Grace Manor, North Alison Park, Pittsburgh, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Martha Vandergrift of Fairmont, WV and grandparents Everett and Nell Tennant of Monumental, WV. Vickie was born September 26, 1957 in Fairmont, WV. She graduated from Barrackville High School and pursued an education in nursing from Alderson Broddus College in Phillipi, West Virginia receiving her BSN. Vickie was proud of her 45-year career as a pediatric nurse at Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh. Her passions were hiking with her Dalmatians, her days on the river with the Three River Rowing Association and making beautiful cross stitch items for friends and family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia Street, Fairmont, WV 26554. A private interment will be at the Monumental Methodist Church Cemetery where Vickie will be buried alongside of her parents and loving grandparents forever.
